Am a Nigerian girl. And I just started apprenticing at a barbing saloon close to my residence due to the lack of barbering schools in Nigeria. So far it has been almost impossible to convince the customers to try me when am done with the apprentice period. But whenever I get a positive response it helps. And encourages me.

Sometimes we as females need to take the mental block of "female barber" out of our heads ...& remember that at the end of the day we are mastering the craft of barbering. So call yourself a BARBER not a FEMALE BARBER...you are unconsiously limitng yourself. I consider myself a barber, I forget im a female until i look at my nails when im cutting. Ladies you can do it!!

Has a female barber I hear that it's hard because this is a domanit male industry well that a somewhat true . Female barbers have a great chance in this industry why because we take time with our customers.. We spoil and make sure our male customers are well groom because we are females and we know what look good and what will make our male customers look good . You have to confindence in yourself and always show up show out because this is a hard industry but it can be done....

Do ladies like men with waves or dreadlocks better?

I appreciate that Felicia Williams now I did not go into great debt about the subject but I will just little at this point. If you got waves and it does not fit you then other people will notice it and if they do I suppose that vibe will hit you; therefore if it does you might want to reconsider having 360's. On the other hand if you were so bossy in the first place then continuing doing your on thing because  other people's opinions means nothing !

I have to agree with The Wave King, females with a wave cut is unique. Especially if its 360. If its skillfully cut right, and all the details are noticeable. It truly is one of the best haircuts for a female with short hair. Dont get me wrong the men kutz are tight as well, but the female is an exception to the rules my friends
